“Apple of Discord”

This artwork depicts the birth, life, and death of the ego. It was created for the “Imprint:Ukrainian Printmaking in the 20th-21st Centuries” exhibition at the Mystetskyi Arsenal National Art and Culture Museum Complex, Kyiv, Ukraine. At 4x6 meters, this piece is his largest ink on canvas thus far.

“This one is part of my most recent series on transforming human forms. The main idea behind this series is about the transformations of the human mind. The metamorphoses that the mind goes through its path from birth to death.”

My first experience with oil painting.
I was about to start this piece, i decided to combine oil and acrylic paints: only yellow curtain was going to painted with oil. I started painting. The process was so exciting and inspired me enough to switch from acrylics to oils.

This painting is based on the mural I did in India back in January 2017. It referees to motion of various celestial bodies in the Universe. This painting is about Earth’s motion. After one year of painting black lines on walls I’m finally bringing this experience into the studio work.

We started to do some experiments with painting on canvas in 2005 together with Aec, when the Interesni Kazki duo was officially established.
In the beginning we pasted a sheet of paper on canvas than painted on it with acrylic and did contours and shades by pencil, like we did it on regular paper. We did that because of our mural painting technique - we put colors than painted contours and shades with black spray can.  
Later we put the mix of glue and gypsum on canvas, which was stretched on wooden board and made the surface smooth for perfect drawing on it. Preparations took us a lot of time and power. 
In this gallery you can see some paintings on canvas and paper i did from 2005 to 2010, some of them - in collaboration with Aec(6,7,10,11 and 17).
In 2011 we tried classic acrylic painting technique with brushes and since that time i work only in that technique.
